Fourth of July Celebration
5-10 p.m.
Three locations along the St. Johns River

Join the City of Jacksonville in celebrating Independence Day with live entertainment, interactive activities, food and beverages, and a spectacular fireworks display. 

The Shipyards on Bay St.
Join in the family fun with waterslides, water balloon toss, three-legged race, volleyball, giant Jenga, crafts, face painting, caricature artist, live entertainment, BBQ, Jax Happenings Mini Challenges, fireworks and more!

The Jacksonville Landing and Coastline Dr. along the Northbank Riverfront
Enjoy live music by Boogie Freaks from 8 p.m. – 1 a.m., drink specials and a beautiful view of the St. Johns River.
Attendees under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent to enter The Jacksonville Landing.

Friendship Fountain Park on the Southbank
Bring the family and experience some of the coolest hands-on activities presented by MOSH. Once you’ve worked up appetite, be sure to stop by Woody’s BBQ and get some delicious, finger-licking food. 
 

Fireworks over the St. Johns River
9:45 p.m.

Fireworks can be viewed from the Northbank and Southbank of the St. Johns River. The fireworks will be launched from two barges on the St. Johns River. One will be located in front of the Jacksonville Landing and the other will be east of the Main St. Bridge. Spectators can view the shows along the Northbank Riverwalk, as well as at Friendship Fountain Park on the Southbank.  The show will be choreographed to a special patriotic soundtrack, with audio on both the Northbank and Southbank. 

Boat Docking and Anchoring

  • Docking on the Northbank and Southbank and at the Metropolitan Park Marina is first-come, first-served in areas not marked as closed.
  • Docking is allowed for a maximum of 72 hours.
  • No anchoring between the Main and Acosta Bridge.
  • No anchoring west of the School Board Building to the Main Street Bridge.
  • No open flames or open flame grills allowed on boats at or on city dock.
  • No swimming in the marina or around the city docks.

Parking

Parking is no problem downtown! Downtown Jacksonville has more than 43,000 public parking spaces, which include garage parking, metered street parking (enforced weekdays 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and peripheral parking.

More than 1,600 metered parking spaces can be found along Downtown streets.  These spaces are free every weekday evening after 6 p.m. and on weekends and holidays.

  • Hogan Street from Water Street to the St. Johns River
  • Close: Friday, July 4 at 7 a.m. - Saturday, July 5 at 2 a.m.
  • Coastline Drive from The Jacksonville Landing to Newnan Street
  • Close: Friday, July 4 at 7 a.m. - Saturday, July 5 at 2 a.m.

Bridge Closures
The Main St. Bridge and Acosta Bridge will be closed during the fireworks show and will reopen immediately following the show. Bridges will remain closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic from the start of the fireworks show until it is clear.
